Beautiful Star of Bethlehem

Matthew 2:1-12 |

Let us gather light from this Star.

There was no light within King Herod, neither the chief priests nor scribes, even though they knew through Scripture the place where Jesus would be born.

Here is the first lesson. If it should be that we fail to preach the gospel, God can conduct souls to His Son by a star. And not only by a star, but by a stone, a bird, a blade of grass, a drop of dew.

There is wisdom from these wise men.

They did not become stargazers and stop at the point of admiring the remarkable star; but they said "Where is He that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east, and are come to worship Him." They set out at once to find the new-born king.

Let us be wise men under the light of our star.

We too have received light that led us to the Savior. There have been many stars, many people, who shine in past and present to show me Christ.

Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:15)
